Post-it kleurt groen

3M introduceert een compleet nieuwe lijn Post-it Notes, speciaal voor iedereen die het milieu belangrijk vindt en die daarin zijn verantwoordelijkheid wil nemen. De Post-it Notes Green en hun verpakking zijn gemaakt van 100% recycled papier en zijn voorzien van het gerenommeerde certificaat 'Blaue Engel'.

Om in aanmerking te komen voor dit certificaat, moet het gebruikte papier volgens de Europese regelgeving voor 100% bestaan uit afval.

De nieuwe Post-it Notes Green zijn gemaakt van kringlooppapier en zijn op milieuvriendelijke wijze geproduceerd. Er is bovendien een minimum aan verpakkingsmateriaal gebruikt. De memobloks zijn niet apart verpakt. Om het recycleproces na gebruik te vergemakkelijken, is er slechts één kleur inkt gebruikt op de notes. Ook op de distributie is gelet: deze notes worden in Europa geproduceerd, zodat er zo min mogelijk belastende vlieguren gemaakt worden. (Bron: Reclameweek)

hartstikke mooi natuurlijk dit soort initatieven, maar 'groener' leven wordt als reclame-middel ingezet waardoor we de grootste vervuilers uit het oog verliezen. De producten die wij als consument gebruiken zijn misschien wel milieuvriendelijk(er), maar alle andere b2b producten zijn verre van milieuvriendelijk. En wat dacht je van die groene post-its, denk je dat die milieuvriendelijk gefabriceerd zijn? dacht t niet. de grondstoffen zijn gerecycled en dat is mooi, maar de machines en de daarvoor benodigde energie die deze post-its produceren zijn absoluut niet milieuvriendelijk en dát zijn de grootste veroorzakers van de milieuproblemen. laat je dus niet misleiden.

Hoi James, je kan die fabrikanten niet verantwoordelijk stellen op die manier vind ik: Die machines zuipen energie ja, maar die draaien enkel omdat wij die postit's kopen. zo vind ik het ook hypokriet om te zeggen dat china vervuilend bezig is: die vervuiling is er enkel omdat wij goedkope producten willen van ze, die niet zo goedkoop zouden zijn als zij zich aan alle westerse en sociale wetten zouden houden.

Als post-it betere productiemethoden zou moeten ontwikkelen naast het betere product zelf, dan zouden de R&D kosten de pan uit rijzen en zou men die blokjes niet meer kopen...
bovendien kost het ook heel veel energie/grondstoffen om nieuwe productiemethoden op te zetten (denk aan nieuwe machines).

naast biobrandstof is dat ook een heel groot gevaar van de milieuhype denk ik: heel veel producten worden vervangen om energie te besparen (bijv spaarlampen): vaak blijkt dat het vervangen van een machine meer energie/grondstoffen kost, dan de energie/grondstoffen die meer verbruikt zouden worden als de oude machines/producten in gebruik zouden blijven.

Indien we er geen geld voor willen neertellen blijft het kiezen voor OF energiebesparing OF grondstofbesparing...

De prijs die wij nu voor producten betalen is niet reeel: wij als consument betalen de producten niet, deze worden grotendeels betaald door de 3e wereld mbv hun gekaapte onderbetaalde grondstoffen en mankracht.

de belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheid ligt bij de consument: wij moeten een eerlijke prijs willen betalen voor producten.

jochem, je hebt gelijk. we zouden een eerlijke prijs moeten betalen. Helaas is van vrijwel geen enkel product bekend of je er de eerlijke (milieubewuste) prijs voor betaald of dat het slechts belachelijke winstmarges zijn.

Ik geloof je besparingstheorie (milieukosten nieuwe productieprocessen en -aparaten hoger dan milieuontziening door nieuwe producten), maar ik denk dat dat voor bepaalde bedrijven geldt. Hoi James, ja cradle2cradle ken ik ja, ik heb de documentaire gezien, goed initiatief! daarbij wordt toch niet zozeer gedacht in het voorkomen van problemen waarbij co2 uitstoot moet worden gereduceerd en waarbij energie/grondstoffen bespaart moeten worden. maar daarentegen gewoon een natuurlijke kringloop creeren: zo werkt de natuur ook dus waarom wij niet :)

zo zou het eigenlijk moeten gaan he.nadeel is alleen dat de cradle2cradle aanpak negatieve invloed heeft op de economische groei. De structuur van de huidige wereldeconomie kan niet zonder groei, dus wil het cradle2cradle principe echt groots worden toegepast zal de hele wereldeconomie zich moeten aanpassen. ik vraag me af of en als, hoe dat zal lukken. ik hoop er iig wel op.

I lay down on the grass, which was very short and soft, where I slept sounder than ever I remember to have done in my life, and, as I reckoned, above nine hours; for when I awakened, it was just daylight. When this shower of arrows was over, I fell a groaning with grief and pain, and then striving again to get loose, they discharged another volley larger than the first, and some of them attempted with spears to stick me in the sides; but, by good luck, I had on me a buff jerkin, which they could not pierce. I thought it the most prudent method to lie still, and my design was to continue so till night, when, my left hand being already loose, I could easily free myself: and as for the inhabitants, I had reason to believe I might be a match for the greatest armies they could bring against me, if they were all of the same size with him that I saw. But fortune disposed otherwise of me. When the people observed I was quiet, they discharged no more arrows; but, by the noise I heard, I knew their numbers increased; and about four yards from me, over against my right ear, I heard a knocking for above an hour, like that of people at work; when turning my head that way, as well as the pegs and strings would permit me, I saw a stage erected, about a foot and a half from the ground, capable of holding four of the inhabitants, with two or three ladders to mount it: from whence one of them, who seemed to be a person of quality, made me a long speech, whereof I understood not one syllable. But I should have mentioned, that before the principal person began his oration, he cried out three times, Langro dehul san (these words and the former were afterwards repeated and explained to me). Whereupon immediately about fifty of the inhabitants came, and cut the strings that fastened the left side of my head, which gave me the liberty of turning it to the right, and of observing the person and gesture of him that was to speak.
